Research and Development Policy

Ulaser provides a variety of ways to cooperate with our partners to carry out product research and development projects. We will fully protect the interests of our partners, such as technology confidentiality, intellectual property protection, market protection, and other core issues.

Generally speaking, we have the following ways of cooperation:

Cooperation Mode 1: Commissioned Research and Development

Fully funded by the partners, Ulaser provides product development services, and the partners pay Ulaser additional research and development profits in addition to the research and development costs. The intellectual property rights and r&d documents generated during the r&d are fully owned by the partners. Ulaser has the obligation to keep all the r&d results confidential and provides a market protection period of not less than 3 years in general. During the protection period, Liton will not manufacture and sell the products and will not transfer the technology to any third party.

Cooperation Mode 2: Cooperative Research and Development

Partners and Ulaser contribute proportionally, usually, we recommend a 1:1 contribution ratio. Ulaser and partners organize teams to jointly carry out product research and development tasks. Both parties agree on rights and responsibilities and sign a cooperative development agreement. Intellectual property rights generated during r&d shall be jointly owned by both parties, and R&D documents generated from r&d tasks undertaken by both parties shall be owned by both parties respectively.
Both parties are obligated to keep all the results of research and development confidential. Ulaser provides a market protection period of not less than 3 years in general. During the protection period, Ulaser will not manufacture and sell the product and will not transfer the technology to any third party.

Cooperation Mode 3: Collaborative Research and Development

Partners provide specific requirements of products, including technical indicators, parameters, etc., and provide necessary R&D resources according to existing conditions, including standard samples, supporting components, sample testing, technical discussions, etc. Ulaser bears all the costs of the r&d project.
Ulaser owns the intellectual property rights and research documents generated during the development process. Ulaser is obligated to keep its r&d projects and results confidential for a period of not less than 3 years.
If the developed product is of custom type, Ulaser provides a market protection period of not less than 3 years in general. During the protection period, Ulaser will not manufacture and sell the same product as the customer and will not transfer the same technology to any third party. Ulaser does not provide market protection if the developed product is of a generic type. Ulaser has the right to produce and sell generic products to other customers.
